KSM-66® Ashwagandha Honey Sticks (Vanilla)

I've taken gummies with ashwagandha, but these packets are something new for me. I thought, because they are called "sticks," that they would be somewhat solid. So, I was surprised when I opened one and found it to be a syrupy liquid. I ate the first one straight out of the packet. It's very sweet, so I decided to mix it in my tea. In hot tea, it dissolves when stirred in. It provides enough sweetness, so nothing else is needed. The packets are easy to open and pour. They can be carried in a purse or pocket to any destination where you might need some stress relief. I need stress relief right at home, so I keep the package on my countertop. I like honey and vanilla, so the flavor is perfect for me. This might be just what I need, because my memory has not been top-notch lately. It's still too soon to tell, but I'm hoping. It's worth trying.

I had high hopes for these Ashwagandha honey sticks, but my experience was mixed.Negative:1. I expected a smooth honey texture, but instead, it was quite gritty, almost like crystallized honey that settles at the bottom of a jar. It was also difficult to squeeze the honey out of the stick.2. While I appreciate that the product is gluten-free, non-GMO, and additive-free, I was disappointed to see that it contains artificial vanilla flavor, they should have used natural vanilla flavor.Positive:1. The flavor itself is mild and pleasant, not overly sugary. The sweetness seems to come naturally from the honey, with 6.6 g of added sugar, likely from the honey itself.2. Each stick is individually packed, keeping every portion fresh and easy to open.3. It has a subtle smoked-wood like scent. I don’t know Ashwagandha having that kind of aroma, but I personally think it’s calming.I added this honey to 10oz of warm milk tea, and it gave just a light touch of sweetness. I’ll avoid using it in very hot liquids to preserve natural benefits of honey. I’m hoping it will help with my health condition overtime.

I am usually pretty hesitant to try any supplements or food products from brands I don’t recognize or can’t find much information about. This product and the store listing has a lot of information about supposed third-party testing, but I can’t find any way to validate or verify that any of this is real or reliable. That does make me a little bit uncomfortable.That being said, I have tried these and consumed one pouch a day for the last four days. It looks and taste like real honey, and actually has the texture consistency of raw honey, which some people might find off putting.The honey is a bit cloudy and very grainy. Raw honey has the tendency to be crystallized because it hasn’t been overheated/cooked to dissolve all the sugar crystals in it. I experimented with placing one of the unopened packets in a cup of very hot water for several minutes and sure enough it seemed to dissolve some of the grainy sugar crystals into a smoother consistency, however, I don’t know if by doing this I have affected the nutritional value of the product.The honey is sweet, but it does also have a slightly earthy flavor to it. As far as the product claims to affect mood and other symptoms, it’s hard to say. My understanding is that the therapeutic benefits of Ashwagandha can take a couple of weeks to really take effect. At the very least I can say that I have had no negative side effects from taking this. I do feel like my mood and energy levels have been pretty good for a few days, but there is no way I can verify that it was related to the supplement or some other external factor.

The COA covers a full heavy metals panel which I wasn't expecting. As an ashwagandha root extract in honey format, knowing it's been tested for contaminants is really reassuring. Great brand.

The taste is just right in protein shake. Makes me feel tranquil and ready for the day.

Why didn't I try these sooner seriously.

A friend was put off by the slight grainy texture in some sticks but I explained to her - thats exactly what real honey does. Fake or over-processed honey stays liquid forever. This is the real deal.
